It represents an exciting development in topical biostimulation, combining technology designed to support collagen and elastin with a multi-acid delivery system that also encourages cellular turnover. And although it is applied a little like a peel, there is an important distinction: D·E·J BioStim™ isn't a peel.
So, what exactly is a biostimulator?
You may already have heard the term biostimulator, particularly in relation to injectable aesthetic treatments. Rather than simply focusing on the surface appearance of the skin, biostimulation is centred around encouraging and supporting processes involved in maintaining the skin's structure and quality. Collagen and elastin are particularly important here.
Collagen provides much of the skin's structure and firmness, while elastin contributes to its ability to stretch and return to shape. So although cellular turnover is encouraged, exfoliation isn't the whole story.
